Podcast Basics For Wasilla MLM Business Bloggers

Today’s Wasilla direct selling article is for Wasilla internet rookies who want to kick up their web marketing a notch by adding a podcast to their Wasilla home business blog.

A podcast is a multimedia file that is downloaded for playback on a mobile device such as an iPod or laptop computer. It can be a digital recording of a radio program or, more often, a program produced solely for online distribution. A podcast can be a recording of a webcast: a live Wasilla program that is ‘streamed’ or broadcast on the internet in real time. When this is the case, it is similar to a DVD recording of a live program that you store in the database of your playback device.

A related term is the acronym RSS which probably originally stood for Rich Site Summary feed but is sometimes used for Really Simple Syndication. You have probably seen the term RSS on websites. An RSS feed allows digital files to be downloaded in a standard format. Anchorage podcast listeners often subscribe to favorite ongoing podcasts. When new podcasts are produced, they are automatically downloaded by RSS applications.

It is fairly simple hardware- and software-wise to product your own podcast for your Wasilla online business
. Your laptop may already have recording capability. If not, you can buy any equipment you need in the Anchorage area.

Wasilla business owners operating on a shoestring will be happy to know that basic recording and editing software can be downloaded for free. If you want to get fancy, you can always buy more sophisticated software at Alaska specialty computer stores. I recommend using a headset microphone so the mic is always in the right spot to get a clear and consistent recording.

Now the fun part: what will you podcast? The possibilities are endless for Wasilla direct marketers. You can record Alaska trade show presentations, interviews with founding distributors of your Wasilla direct sales company, or create an entertaining pitch about your Anchorage business opportunity. Let your expertise and enthusiasm shine.

Creating a podcast gives you a chance to connect with potential Wasilla customers or downline members in a personal way.

Safest Cars For Homer Families

Hello Homer parents! Welcome to my Anchorage children’s health blog. I am an advocate for improved health and safety for Homer kids. I also sell an exceptional nutritional product called XProtein Meal shake. If you would like to learn more about one of the best snacks for kids, call me today at 801-318-0001.

I like lists, they are short and to-the-point. Every once in a while I run across a ‘Top Five’ or ‘Top Ten’ article such as: ‘The Ten Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Homer,’ ‘The Top Five Nutritional Kids Foods,’ or ‘The Five Best Family Attractions in the Anchorage Area.’

I recently read an article on that lists the safest cars of the year1. Here are three that caught my eye with my comments thrown in:

1) The Tesla Model S four-door electric sedan. (I’ve never heard of this car but the makers claim it will go ‘300 zero-emission miles on one charge.’1 That’s a lot of trips to your closest Homer grocery store with no adverse environmental impact!)
2) BMW Five Series. (This isn’t your ordinary Homer kid hauler but it sure is pretty.)
3) Chevrolet Cruze. (This small sedan has the most budget-friendly MSRP of $16,275.)

As Anchorage parents, our children’s’ health and safety should be our top priority. When it comes time to buy a new family car in Homer, remember to check the safety ratings.

RIF in Wasilla?

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

Wasilla online business I am intrigued and inspired by the way some Wasilla people respond to financial challenges.

I have seen Wasilla friends whose jobs were outsourced waste no time and retrain for new careers even though they were close to retirement age.

I’ve heard of executive level Wasilla businessmen and women who, after finding themselves ‘RIFed,’ take much lower paying positions to support their families.

I’ve heard of entrepreneurs who lost their homes build a small business that allowed them to buy another, nicer Wasilla home in just a few years.

I’ve even heard of Wasilla stay-at-home moms start online businesses that eventually generated an income larger than their husbands’ earnings at the pinnacle of his career.

If you are sinking financially but have not yet found a solution, I invite you to learn about my Wasilla business. I sell XProtein Meal shake and nuggets online and in the Wasilla area.

Starting your own business for the first time can be overwhelming. I remember how apprehensive I was. Fortunately, I received all the tools and support promised to me when I signed up as a new XProtein Meal shake distributor. That has also been the experience of the nuggets distributors in my network–because I have provided the same attentive mentoring! (It’s hard to be humble when your nuggets team is breaking sales records.)

Kenai Home Business Tax Write-Offs

Kenai Home Business Tax Write-Offs

Hello home based business owners in Kenai! Today’s blog is about saving money with home business tax write-offs. If you are running your own direct sales business or online store out of your Kenai home, you can take advantage of several tax breaks.

A percentage of your rent or mortgage and utilities can be deducted. If you use your computer exclusively for running your business, you may be able to write off the entire purchase price. Don’t forget to include the monthly fee to your internet service provider (I put this expense under the utilities category mentioned previously.)

Gasoline and auto maintenance expenses can take a large chunk of your income, especially as Kenai gas prices continue to rise. Don’t forget to expense the business portion of your transportation costs.

You can’t write off 100 percent of business meals eaten in Anchorage restaurants, but you may be able to expense 50 percent. The amount may seem too little to bother with, or on the other hand, it may surprise you. The key to getting the most tax savings possible is keeping good records and adding up all the little savings.

Here’s wishing all Kenai home business owners a smaller tax bill this year!

Palmer Opportunity in a Billion Dollar Industry

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Palmer Opportunity in a Billion Dollar Industry Palmer triathletes, Wasilla sleepy new moms, and Homer over scheduled teenagers: A Healthy Energy Drink is now available in Alaska. The drink is called Xe and is produced by XoCai, the company that brought Antioxidant Chocolate to Anchorage health conscious chocolate aficionados.

Would you like to make money selling the first healthy chocolate energy drink? Text Palmer Xocai distributor Geneve Campbell at 801-318-0001 or email This is the next big thing! The energy drink market is a billion dollar industry that is projected to grow 67% in 2010! Start making money with the first health-enhancing energy beverage.

One can of XoCai Xe gives you nourishing energy that will sustain you throughout your day (or night). Xe helps tired Palmer shiftworkers get through those graveyards feeling vigorous and alert. Xe is the ultimate energy drink for all the overworked and overstressed Anchorage walking zombies who are tired of caffeine surges and crashes.

Compare Xocai Xe to traditional energy drinks such as Red Bull, Rock Star, or Monster*.

Theobromine, Maca, Ginseng, Yerba Maté, Quercetin, Guarana, Proprietary Antioxidant Blend, Açaí, Goji, Agave Nectar, Nisin and Natamycin.
Xe contains NO artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives or refined sugars.

Taurine; which can be toxic.
Refined Sugar; which causes dental decay (a no-brainer) and triggers the up-and-down jolt that can lead to addiction as users keep drinking more to get back to the pre-crash “high”.

I am an Xocai Xe distributor in Palmer. I hold meetings at on the phone and help others start their own XoCai businesses. I have been selling XoCai weight loss chocolate since April. Xe is opening a whole new Palmer market for me: the thousands of daily energy drink consumers. Get your piece of the pie! Call me today at 801-318-0001.

Treating Palmer Kids’ Minor Cuts And Bumps

Treating Palmer Kids' Minor Cuts And Bumps

Spending lots of time outside is important for healthy kids in Palmer, and with all that outdoor adventure come the inevitable bumps, scrapes, and cuts. But parents in the Wasilla, Homer, and Kenai areas shouldn’t fear, all you need to know are a few simple steps for treating your children’s minor injuries.

A minor cut should stop bleeding on its own, but using a clean cloth and applying gentle pressure may be necessary.

Once bleeding has stopped, rinse the wound with water and pull out any debris with alcohol-cleansed tweezers. The area around the wound can be cleaned with mild soap and a washcloth, no hydrogen peroxide or alcohol is necessary.

Once the wound is clean, apply a thin layer of antibiotic cream or ointment. Appropriate topical antibiotics can be found at any drugstore in the Palmer area. Next, you should cover your child’s wound with a bandage. When the bandage becomes wet or dirty it should be changed. Once a wound has healed enough to keep infection out, bandages should not be used since air exposure will speed your child’s healing.

Remember to watch for signs of infection such as redness, drainage, increased pain, swelling, or warmth. Contact your Wasilla, Homer, or Kenai area pediatrician if you have any other concerns.

Plastic Alert For Kenai Parents

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

Plastic Alert For Kenai Parents Hello new Kenai parents. Today’s Healthy Kenai Children’s blog focuses on BPA. Bisphenol A (BPA), the dangerous compound used in plastics manufacturing can now be detected everywhere in our environment: in our food, clothing, homes, offices, soil, water: you name it.

‘Since at least 1936 it has been known that BPA mimics estrogens, binding to the same receptors throughout the human body as natural female hormones.’1

What does this mean for Kenai kids? Numerous scientific studies suggest an increased risk of cancer and neurological problems.

Kenai infants are the most susceptible to even minute amounts of BPAs. Unfortunately, most infant formula containers and plastic bottles contain BPAs and other toxins.

What can Kenai parents do to reduce the risk of these chemicals finding their way into their child’s formula or baby food?

1) Do not heat plastic containers in the microwave.
2) Do not wash plastic containers in hot water.
3) Consider using glass bottles and containers.

These are simple steps that any Kenai parent or day-care provider can take. Toss your plastic bottles today! For more information about children’s health issues, call me at 801-318-0001.
